The Lighthouse, King's Cross
This Landmark building is located in the heart of King’s Cross, London, directly opposite King’s Cross St Pancras International station. Photos taken in December 2010 and in October 2011. Built in 1884, the building’s unusual architecture has led to it being locally known as the King’s Cross lighthouse, although there seems to be some debate as to what the tower was actually for. Some say that it was built to advertise an Oyster House below, while slightly madder people have suggested that it was once a helter-skelter tower. The Grade II listed building has been lying empty for a very long time, building refurbishment has started.
